Growing Boy

My goodness! It seems like every day Carson grows and changes just a little. It's been a while since our last Dr.'s visit, and we don't go back until his 2 month check. So, we took some unofficial measurements at home. He is about 23.5 inches long and almost 12 pounds! (Very scientific methods as you can see by the photos!) He has outgrown all of his newborn clothes and is wearing his 3 month clothes now. A whole new wardrobe for mom to dress him up with! It was sad to pack up and put away the newborn clothes, they were some of my favorites.

Merry Christmas 2007

Our First Christmas family photo

John Deere tractor toy from Grandpa and Grandma Grier, of course! Carson will love to play on the farm some day!
We had a special visit from Megan's friend Jenny Matzen, who was home from Arizona for Christmas. Mom was very excited to see her!

Check out my First Camo! Go Hawks, too!

Hello, Family and Friends! We have so much to be thankful this Christmas. We had a wonderful time visiting all of our family and some friends, too! We are thankful everyone is in good health, good spirits, and that the weather cooperated to allow all of us to gather for the Holiday. I've uploaded some of the highlights of Carson's First Christmas, but it was so hard out of the dozens to only pick a few. We're pretty biased, but we just think he's such a cutie and love every picture. He's a spoiled guy! Christmas brought lots of clothes and toys, but most importantly, lots of attention and love from his extended family!

Pre-Christmas Pictures

I staged Carson at home a few weeks ago for a photo shoot for our Christmas card. The cards will go out in the mail soon that have the "winning photo," but here are some of my other favorite pics. One almost looks like a smile and the other looks like he's tellling Santa his wish list! :)

Hello! I apologize for the delay for another entry! We have been very busy at the Grier house gearing up for the Holidays and with me returning to work. I worked a full week last week with a nearly full schedule each day and it was exhausting! Carson gave us the best gift of a full night's sleep on Wednesday....7 hours! He's returned to his usual pattern of 2.5-4 hour stretches, but at least we know that he CAN do it and hope that he WILL do it again SOON and more frequently! We are just amazed at how much Carson is growing. He is now fully into the 3 month size clothes and we just past the 5 week mark! I tried to weigh him with me on the scale at home and he is around 11 pounds now. His cheeks are plumping up, but most noticeable is how long he's stretching out! He's more alert and focuses on things now, too. He'll sit in his swing or lay on his activity mat and just stare at the mobiles and toys in a trance for sometimes up to 15 minutes. He smiles a lot, but still just to his gassy belly. No real smiles yet.
We look forward to having lots of quality time with each other and our families this week!

Getting ready to go home!

Napping with Dad and Dizzle

Hello! Mom created this blog for me so that all of my friends and family can check out my new pictures and know what I'm up to. We found out about this website from some friends and it sounded like a fun idea.
I am now three weeks old. I was born on Nov. 16th and weighed 8 pounds, 9 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. I lost some weight the first week, but by my 2 wk check-up I was 8 lbs., 12 oz. and 22 inches long. Mom can't believe how much I've grown in the last week, I'm so tall that some of my "newborn" clothes are too small already!
I'm adjusting to the world. I love to eat and to stare at everything, trying to grow and learn as much as I can. Sleep is overrated. At first I would only sleep for 30 min. to 2 hours, but I started to feel bad for my tired mom and dad, so now I try to sleep for 3-4 hours at a time. They keep trying to talk me into sleeping longer, maybe later.
I've met a lot of my new family and friends....wow, I am loved! We've had a lot of visitors at the hospital and home. Soon I will travel to visit my grandparents and family for the holidays. Speaking of holidays, last night I met Santa! I had my picture taken with him while we took a nap.
Well, I think I'm hungry again....talk to you later! ~Carson
