Sitting up and more

After dinner, before bath....food up nose and drool on chin...but he's getting much better at sitting on his own!
Too big for our changing pad, stretch! These 12-month bibs are just right in length! Suprising that he's on his back, usually he's non-stop rolling here.
These bibs have the added perk of a built in stuffed horsey in the pocket...which was totally drenched in drool within minutes, but amusement all day!
Enough with trying to get pictures of my tooth, Mom! (Now there's two!)

6 month check-up

Hello! We had Carson's six month check-up on Friday. He is 28 3/4 inches long (off the charts again!), 18 1/2 pounds (75th-percentile), and his head is 17 7/8th in. (90th %). We do have a string bean! He had more of his immunizations, and we are now on day 2 of mild fever and fussiness. Other than the last 48 hrs., we are so thankful and enjoy our VERY happy, smiley, laughing boy!
TEETHING UPDATE: Carson got his first tooth, on the lower left front, 2 wks ago! On this last Wed. he started getting the neighbor to the right. Two teeth now!:) We've been trying to get a good photo, but he's a little protective of them and just tries to chew our fingers when we try!
Splish, Splash, Carson loves his bath! He's learned to kick and make splashes in his tub. His other bathtime favorites are to catch rubber ducky and gnaw on him and to suck on the washcloth.
First Shoulder ride....using mom's hair like reigns until he decided to try to eat my hair!
RoLliNg, rOllInG, RoLLinG...he can go anywhere now! He was squealing and having so much fun under the futon.
One of his new buddies, Kendall Jepson (4 months old) came to visit the other night. Cutie!
First time we found him sleeping on his tummy. Exactly how we found him! New definition of nightcap!
We will soon have another buddy! Kortney (left) is due in July with a baby boy. Carson's "Pi Phi Aunts" visited yesterday....Kort, Brooke, (mom), Aimee. Carson was napping and didn't get in on photo time, but got lots of coos that day.

Carson's dinnertime

He gets so excited to sit in his high chair. This is actually after dinner and clean-up. Tonight he ate a big bowl of mixed grain cereal and a FULL portion of peas.....yum, mashed up peas...he usually only eats a half-portion of veggies. Looks like he liked it though!:)

Check out that full belly!:) He is happy sitting in the high chair for quite a while after meals so he can watch what we're up to. He does get jealous if we eat, he thinks he needs more then, too!
Outfit note: This shirt is from G'pa and G'ma Swanson, a souvenior from their Hawaii trip last summer. Usually G'pa Jim works for mom on Thursdays, so we dressed up for him, forgetting that he was sub. teaching in Chariton today. So, the blog is being used to show it off. Also, the shorts are some of "cousin" Jake's from Arizona, thank you for all of the great surfer style summer gear!

FIVE MONTHS OLD!!

Using the "John Deere" teether....but no teeth yet! Lots of drool!
Saying good-bye to Mommy at the Airport. Mom went to Phoenix last weekend to visit her friend Jenny and her Aunt Janet, Cousin Rick and his family (Mary, Kate, & Jake). She had fun visiting, but it was really hard to be away!
First day wearing shorts and sandals.
He loves his new toy/book and his ball!
Superman
He can hold his head up and do a good pushup now! Crawling is not too far off!
Hold 'em down! He's so squirmy now on his changing table he needs to be strapped in. Ben put his arms in there this time to hold him still for the photo. Note: The diaper is on backwards courtesy of Grandpa Jim!:) G'pa Jimbo watched Carson on Thursday night for Megan to have a night out (Bunco) and while Ben was at his Baseball fundraiser. We appreciated the help!:)

April 1-13

Party like a rock star.
Big kid in a little shirt.
I'm too sexy for this shirt.

Carson's waiting in the lobby to be mom's next patient!

Mom left Carson with Daddy while she was getting herself ready for church. They hit the snooze button.

What's up?

How's it hanging?

FOUR month update

Hello! Carson had his 4 month check-up on Friday and some more fun shots. His new measurements are 16.5 lbs (80th%, he had that yucky flu-like cold a few weeks ago and is catching back up), 90th percentile for head size, and 27.5 inches long (>95%, off the charts!). Yes, we still have a big boy here!
Developmental update: He's added some new sounds to his "conversations" and we have a lot of fun talking to him and making him laugh! He's grabbing onto things very strongly and loves to cuddle his blankets, especially the afgan-like ones. He likes to try to help hold the bottle during feedings, and we can't talk to him while he's eating or he stops and smiles, laughs, and coos. He'll hold his head up and look all around during tummy time, which he now can handle for several minutes before getting frustrated. He can now sit up with a little support and is much less wobbly. He also is a healthy eater with his rice cereal. We tried pears this weekend and he spit 99% of it back out at us, not a fan yet! AND, mom and dad's favorite...he's back on track sleeping 8-10 hours at night! Yeah!:)

Letter from Carson

I've been feeling a little under the weather this past week with the "Rotovirus." I'm getting a little frustrated that I can't eat much and keep spitting up. But, overall I'm still happy. Sorry, mom, both Grandmas, Grandpa Dave, Uncle Bob, AND Cousin Chase for giving all of you upset tummies, too! Here's what I was up to before I got sick. Love, Carson

Whoa! Another new Williamsburg friend! Cael Steckly, son of Mike and Mandy Steckly.
My new favorite toy. It's a frog. He tastes good. (He loves to grab it and bring it right to his mouth, of course!)
My "crib"
Relaxing with Dad, trying to kick my socks off... again.

I can look above my head at you now!
I love listening to and watching my fishy at bedtime.
Warm and cuddly after bathtime.
Whew! What a workout in the jumparoo!
My man, Diz

The end. (I can roll onto my side, but going all the way over to my tummy is overrated, I don't like tummy time!)
