Oh boy, Oh BOY!

Ah...curse of the ultrasound again! Yes, we are having a BOY! Not the sonographer's fault, she was working so hard to get different angles to not show the "parts." But, I bet I saw it at least six times before she asked us if we wanted to know the sex. We said that we were planning on it being a suprise, but thought we knew. She said baby was making it pretty obvious, wanting us to see what it was! Ben's on cloud 9! I'm happy, too, but was thinking it was going to be a girl so had a little sadness, too. I guess we proved the "needle test" and Chinese calendar wrong! It will be fun to have Carson have a little buddy to play with, to hunt with (according to Ben), and another protector for that little girl we hope to someday have! We've always said we wanted 3 or 4, so there's some more chances for pink someday. Meanwhile, we are totally set! All of Carson's handy-downs will be perfect sizes and seasons. I'm also excited because I've been eyeing those bunk beds with the full bed on bottom and twin on top and that will be perfect someday! So, we're doing our part in keeping the "Grier" name going, and the Williamsburg football and baseball teams! :)

Carson's Iowa State Fair Adventures

Ok, I'm frustrated with the Blogger set-up the last few times. It adds in pictures as text and I can't tell which one's which, so they're out of sequence! Arg!
We had a great weekend at the Fair! Carson's going back for more this weekend for a weekend with the Grandparents while Mom and Dad have an adult weekend of a Glow Ball Golf Night and a friend's birthday. Mom's hoping to get some work done on Carson's "big boy room" and Dad is working on his Grad/recertification classes. It's only been 3 hours without him, and we miss him so much!!!

We had a busy, busy July and forgot to take our camera many places! First picture below is Grandma Kathy teaching Carson how to ride a bike! Ok, so he was more riding than pedaling, but he had a blast and we couldn't get him off of it! We were at Uncle Sean's house visiting Cousin Thomas and wife Emma, as Tomcat was home for a short break from his Afghanistan deployment.
Ben and I squeezed in an Adult Vacation Weekend to Chicago with the Stecklys, Kents, and Andrews. We saw a great game at Wrigley, with the Cubs beating the Cards 5-2! It was a fun getaway, even for the "D.D." pregnant lady!:) (Chicago has great food and a lot of interesting folks for people watching!) We missed our little man, but greatly enjoyed time together! Thank you, Grandpa and Grandma Swanson for watching Carson that weekend!

New extended family additions

The Taylors have been adding members to the Sutfin family this last year. Last September, Ben's cousin Traci married Brandon Schmidt. They are pictured below with their newborn baby girl, Kamryn Jade, born July 10. She was excited to get here and arrived a month early and healthy! On June 27th, Ben's cousin Angie married John Dvorak. Carson was very fascinated by their goldfish centerpieces and had a blast getting down on the dance floor with the family! Aunt Christine was "getting low" with him, while extended family of Brenda, Jess, Tammy, and Shannon danced along!

June belated blog

Above are pictures from: FATHER'S DAY at the I-Cubs game with the whole Sutfin family. We were also celebrating Great-Grandpa Bob's 75th birthday! Carson loves to try on and walk around in any shoes he finds....he has some big ones to fill here! We had some major rainfall in June. On a lighter rain day, Carson was having a lot of fun playing in the drain spout. We didn't let him go play on the flood Friday rainy day....as you can see, the neighbor's swingset that Carson loves was in a flood zone from the Knolls Nile going thru our backyard! The mailbox is a neighbor's across the street and down one house. Our street was filled to the brim of the curb, but didn't go over in our yard. We were lucky to not have any water in our basement! We figure if we didn't get water with that storm, we should be good and dry enough to finish the basement without worry!
